Every year, we welcome a wide range of professionals and it’s our aim to make the fair their most successful point of the year. We have created specialised zones so visiting and exhibiting professionals can hone in on what the really want to see.

The Department for International Trade

The UK’s Department for International Trade has overall responsibility for promoting UK trade across the world and attracting foreign investment to our economy. DIT are a specialised government body with responsibility for negotiating international trade policy, supporting business, as well as delivering an outward-looking trade diplomacy strategy. Through the Exporting is GREAT campaign, DIT aims to inspire and support UK businesses to sell their products and services overseas. The site offers real-time global export opportunities, support, guidance and details of DIT's national events programme.

Literary Translation Centre

In an increasingly global book trade, the role of the translator has never been more important. If there is a barrier preventing the flow of titles from one territory to another, it is that English has become the lingua franca of the industry and only a tiny percentage of titles are ever translated into English. Each year at LBF, world-renowned translators gather to discuss the issues and trends impacting foreign language markets at our dedicated Literary Translation Centre.

The zone is sponsored by AmazonCrossing with funding from Arts Council England provides a hub for learning, debating and networking for all those passionate about the art and business of literary translation. The area features a curated seminar programme and dedicated meeting area.
