Conference Programme Submissions
Speak at The London Book Fair
Speak at The London Book Fair
This page contains guidance on how The London Book Fair (LBF) chooses speakers and how to participate in our programme.
The final deadline for applying is 9th September 2026. Please note we review these submissions on a rolling basis and there are limited spots in the programme. We therefore recommend that you submit your ideas to us as soon as possible.
LBF welcomes innovative submissions, high-level thought leadership and informative case studies with a special interest in those linked to entrepreneurship within publishing, emerging trends, and major or growing publishing sectors. We welcome submissions from across the community and commit to making the programme as diverse as possible.
Our main conference programme takes place in theatres across the show floor during the fair from Tuesday 16th March – Thursday 18th March, and these sessions are free to attend for all LBF visitors. In addition, we host two ticketed conferences: the Writers’ Summit on Monday 15th March, and the Academic and Professional Publishing Conference on Thursday 18th March.

Considerations when applying:
- Submitting your proposal is an expression of interest only, it does not guarantee a slot
- We do not accept promotional or sales pitches. However, we do have limited slots for exhibitors where they can decide the theme and speakers. Please contact your account manager for more information
- We do not accept individual author book pitches. LBF has a trade audience and as such it is not the place for a consumer book pitch. Authors at LBF are included on events and panels with themes that are of interest to other writers attending. We may consider submissions for well-known authors discussing their path to success
- We look for sessions that educate, inform or entertain our LBF attendees. We love to see new research about audiences, markets and insights
Speakers:
- Seniority of speaker and industry influence is a consideration
- We will give priority to events that include international speakers
- We like to hear from people who haven’t spoken at LBF or other industry conferences recently
- We like to hear from people from other industries who have insights to share
We are keen to have a range of formats so please do consider fireside chats between two people, as well as more traditional panel events. Our team will get in touch directly if your session is selected.
If your submission is selected, we may have some guidance to ensure that sessions are distinct from one another. You will need to take ownership of refining the topic, title, acquiring speakers and providing us with their details. The final deadline for providing your session and speaker details is 30th November 2026.
If you are successful in getting a speaker slot, we recommend that you market your event to your desired audience, as LBF is a big event.
