The London Book Fair exists to help people make their words come to life in the vigorous and dynamic publishing industry. We have a myriad of options for you to explore at our show, all to help you succeed in your business.
Gathering people together and creating the perfect space to make connections is what we are all about. This includes the three days of the Fair itself as well as other opportunities throughout the year, including our meet-ups, seminars and events which take place all over the world.
The London Book Fair exists to help people through the shifting terrain that is the publishing industry. Our features are are carefully curated to showcase informative and inspiring content across all its forms. We also present awards to highlight the exemplary work of organisations in the industry.
LBF holds various conferences during the Fair and throughout the year, exploring many different topics such as consumer insight, rights, education and inclusivity in publishing. There's something for everyone.
Insights Seminar Programme
The range of topics covered in our Insights Seminar Programme is staggering with 200+ informative seminars. LBF provides insights into every aspect of the book world especially the ones that are up and coming, such as our live podcasting theatre which was new in 2019.
LBF holds two award ceremonies each year. The International Excellence Awards, held on the Tuesday evening of the Fair, celebrating publishing and related activities outside of the UK and The Trailblazers, celebrating those under 30 in the publishing industry.
Charity of the year
LBF has supported many and varied book-related charities as long as the Fair has been running. In 2014, we formalised these initiatives somewhat, and invited applications to become the annual priority charity. Nominations for the 2021 Charity of the Year are now open.
The objective of the LBF Market Focus is to put the spotlight on publishing trade links with the country or region that is showcased, highlighting its publishing industry, and the opportunities for conducting business with the rest of the world. The London Book Fair is delighted have Sharjah as the Market Focus for 2020.
The Department for International Trade
The UK’s Department for International Trade has overall responsibility for promoting UK trade across the world and attracting foreign investment to our economy. DIT are a specialised government body with responsibility for negotiating international trade policy, supporting business, as well as delivering an outward-looking trade diplomacy strategy. Through the Exporting is GREAT campaign, DIT aims to inspire and support UK businesses to sell their products and services overseas. The site offers real-time global export opportunities, support, guidance and details of DIT's national events programme.
