Passport & Visa Information
Passports
On arrival in the United Kingdom, you must show a valid national passport or other equivalent official document that satisfactorily establishes your identity and nationality.
Visas
If you are not a British citizen or a citizen of one the European Economic Area (EEA) countries, you may need to acquire a visa – entry clearance certificate – before you travel to Britain. If you have a valid passport and UK visa, you will normally be granted entry to the UK. Please allow plenty of time to make an appointment for your visa application before you travel to avoid disappointment.

When you arrive in Britain, your visa tells UK immigration:
- The reason you are travelling to Britain
- How long you are allowed to stay
- The last day you are allowed entry
Entry clearance follows strict rules and procedures.
Visitor Visa Letters
Visitors can access the visa letter service only once they have registered for The London Book Fair online.
On completion of your registration, you will receive a confirmation email which includes your badge number and a link to the visa letter service completion page.
Here you need to complete all your contact and company details, your badge number, your passport number and your date of birth. Once you have successfully submitted this information, this will generate a printable letter that you can take to your nearest British consular.
Exhibitor Visa Letters
Exhibitors can access the visa letter service via the Exhibitor Portal.
Visa letters will be available from registration and through the Exhibitor Portal.
