The London Book Fair (“the Event”) Admissions Policy

1. Only pre-registered The London Book Fair visitors who are visitor badge holders, press badger holders or exhibitor badge holders will be able to gain entry to The London Book Fair. Those visitors who have forgotten their badges may not necessarily be permitted entry.

 

2. The London Book Fair is a trade show and is only open to publishing/book professionals – as well as your badge to enter, you may be asked to prove your credentials at the door.

 

3. No one under the age of 18 will be able to attend (unless they have obtained prior written consent of the Organisers, which will only be granted for special educational purposes). This includes babies in arms and pushchairs. Anyone attending The London Book Fair should carry photo-ID (e.g. passport, photo-ID driving licence, national identity card), which the Organisers may ask to see to gain entry.

 

4. Badge holders must not allow their badges to be worn by anyone else. Any failure is likely to lead to the badge holder and the person wearing the badge being removed from The London Book Fair and being refused further admission.

 

5. The Organisers reserve the right to exclude anyone or require a badge holder to leave the Event who does not comply with this policy or whom the Organisers reasonably consider is likely to break these rules or who is prohibited from attending under any applicable sanctions, laws or regulations, or otherwise at the Organisers’ discretion. Anyone obtaining a badge by theft, deception or other illegal means will likely be asked to leave The London Book Fair and be refused further admission.

 

6. Admission to The London Book Fair is subject to an ID check. Due to health and safety restrictions of the venue, no cases/trolley bags will be allowed to enter the main hall. For more details, please read  Safety and Security at our Events.

 

7. Press badges at The London Book Fair are restricted to publishers, editors, journalists, photographers, broadcasters, and web bloggers associated with the industry. Members of the press may be required to complete an application form and produce accreditation in the form of a photocopy of a recognised press or media card, business card, NUJ card, a letter from the editor or an official web address linking to a press release in order to verify their position. Press applications from advertising personnel and media sales representatives will not be accepted. For the avoidance of doubt, any accredited press badge holders are specifically advised that, under no circumstances, may they photograph or publish images of any schoolchildren (or their teachers) who have been invited by the Organisers to attend The London Book Fair as part of an educational programme.

 

8. With the exception of guide dogs or other service animals, no pets or animals of any description will be allowed into The London Book Fair.

 

9. Anyone attending the Event must not take part in any canvassing, leafleting or demonstrations or display objectionable behaviour or wear offensive apparel or be involved in any activity which may disrupt, defame or disparage The London Book Fair.

 

10. Cancellation Policy – the Organisers reserve the right to cancel or postpone the Event, or any part of the Event, on limited or no notice at the Organisers’ sole discretion. In the event of a cancellation or postponement of the Event, the Organisers shall not be responsible or liable for any costs, damages, fees, expenses or other compensation associated with the Event, but each attendee shall be entitled to a full refund of any fees or charges paid to obtain a badge to attend the Event. No refunds will be given if attendees cancel their badges or fail to attend for any reason whatsoever.

 

11. Photography and Recording – official The London Book Fair photographers/ videographers will be taking photographs and filming videos at The London Book Fair. Anyone attending The London Book Fair authorises such photography and recording and permits the official photographers/videographers and the Organisers to use their image, likeness and voice for exploitation, including for marketing, archival and promotional purposes in any and all media, without any liability, compensation or credit to them.

1. By allowing your badge to be scanned by an exhibitor or sponsor or speaker, you consent to the information you submitted on your registration document being given to that exhibitor or sponsor or speaker so they may contact you in the future. Data about which exhibitors or sponsors or speakers scan your badge may be used by the Organisers for analytical purposes.

 

2. By choosing to allow their badge to be scanned by an exhibitor or sponsor during The London Book Fair for any seminars, talks, panels or other events at The London Book Fair, visitors and attendees will be providing their name and contact details to any relevant exhibitor or sponsor, who may subsequently contact such attendees or visitors about their products or services.

The safety and security of the Event’s and the venue’s staff and all attendees at the Event is the Organisers’ principal priority. The work Organisers closely with the venue, local and national authorities to identify risks, assess them and develop security plans for the Event.

All attendees to The London Book Fair must adhere to all relevant rules regarding Health & Safety. The Organisers encourage all attendees to exercise social responsibility and there will be enhanced cleaning throughout the Venue and hand sanitising facilities available.
