Knowledge Exchange Between the East and the West

Knowledge Exchange Between the East and the West

13 Mar 2019, 12:45 - 13:15

The Buzz Theatre

The session will be about a topic that wasn't much treated in the last few years during the international book fairs. Nasher wants to shed the light on the common practices in these two parts of the world and give the chance to the interested audience to know about the level of exchange of experiences and knowledge in Publishing.

Inviting guests from the Publishing industry and/or from administrative bodies related to the industry will give an interesting focus on this strategic topic.

·  To start marking the presence of Nasher on an international level

·  Discuss a new topic that encourages Arab publishers and regulators on learning from the world’s best practices

·  Merge strategic thinking of some Arab leaders in Publishing with experienced professionals from the West.

·  Europe has comprehensive databases for publishers, editors, and authors. What are the adaptations we can make in the Arab world?

·  What are the constraints that define the progress of publishing industry in both sides?

·  Are there any learning agreements and/or apprenticeship visits by Arab publishers to Europe or the US?

·  What is the nature of collaboration between regulatory bodies in terms of knowledge exchange/sharing?
