In Poetry, Truth: Why Poetry is Good for the Soul
12 Mar 2019, 14:30 - 15:30
Poet's Corner
- Language:
- English
Poetry is what we turn to in times of need. When we’re grieving, when we’re broken-hearted, or when we struggle to understand the things we’re feeling, poetry provides a connection. No wonder Jeanette Winterson says she keeps her copy of William Sieghart’s The Poetry Pharmacy with the brandy and aspirin. In this special session Nicolette Jones of the Sunday Times will interview William Sieghart about the therapeutic power of poetry, and why poetry is coming into its own in these difficult times. Expect a preview too of his forthcoming book The Poetry Remedy.
