'Creator of master works' wins 2010 Israel Prize for literature

The established author, who is now 83-years-old, was named victor by the Israeli education minister Gideon Sa'ar, according to Haaretz.
The competition's judges hailed Bartov's long-spanning career and revealed that the writer's ability to translate the experiences of the Zionist cause in the 20th century contributed to this latest accolade.
His success in creating volumes in a number of genres was also highlighted by the judges. Bartov has written well-received short stories, novels, plays, essays and biographies in a career spanning six decades.
