Exclusive to LBF for 2016 was the FICCI Rights Catalogue - a preview of some of the Indian Publications already existing in English. This includes the latest titles ready to be taken into other markets.
Indian publishing in the English language has created a niche of its own with India ranked 3rd in the world in English Language after the UK and the US. Commonly referred to as Indian Writing in English, successive generations of Indian writers have made a name for themselves and created a unique genre from the subcontinent.
Unfortunately, this amazing genre rarely reaches readers in English speaking markets - download the PDF to find out more.
In order to establish a link between the English language authors/publishers from the subcontinent and consumers in countries such as the UK and US, FICCI and LBF have come together to preview a catalogue of titles in English published in South Asia.
The Rights Catalogue is not an exhaustive list of all major publication from India. The list contains only those titles which received from publishers interested in circulating or marketing information on published or yet to be published titles for the exchange of rights. There has been no selection process and the titles listed in the Catalogue are in no particular order. For the convenience of the readers, the titles thus received are segregated according to three broad genres; illustrated books, fiction and children's.
For any further details please feel free to contact the FICCI Publishing Department secretariat at the address given at the back of the Catalogue.
