Censor, Advocate, or Disruptor? The Role of Publishers in an Evolving Publishing and Media Landscape

10 Apr 2018, 10:00 - 12:30

Club Room, National Hall Gallery

Freedom to publish has never been more important than now. This seminar, curated by the International Publishers Association, and powered by LBF aims to propel the dialogue, raise the issues, and discuss solutions to challenges. The panel will discuss laws such as blasphemy, cybercrime, and NGO laws around the world which hinder freedom of expression and to publish.  How political polarization and nationalist populism is fuelling selective censorship where dissension is viewed as damaging, will also be looked at.
