Changing demographics, technology, and cultural expectations have disrupted traditional ways of delivering content in higher education. Publishers are grappling with new demands on product development and content management adopting methodologies such as Agile, UX and Scrum. But how do you sense check an ever-increasing list of customer demands with what they really do on a day to day basis? How can you make sure new products and services will solve the most pressing problems in the faculty?

Designer and innovation consultant, Paul-Jervis Heath, will discuss how user experience research can be enhanced using ethnography. He will talk through tools and techniques to reveal the reality of teaching, learning and researching. And they will demonstrate through case studies how even the smallest publisher can innovate to serve these needs.
