Tim Coates explains the concept of Bilbary, and Richard Charkin and Marcus Woodburn describe how it has inspired the support of their companies. Bilbary.com is a new website upon which publishers are invited to place all their e-books. Publishers can set their own retail or wholesale price for sale and or rental. The site will be multilingual and eventually operate all over the world on any device. Bilbary is different because it puts reading first: its ambition is to make every book available to every reader throughout the world, and to reward authors and publishers appropriately.

Jo Henry will reveal some key comparisons from the Global eBook Monitor, a research study conducted by Bowker Market Research to investigate ebook adoption and attitudes to digital material in 10 countries in early 2012: Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, India, Japan, South Korea, Spain, the UK and the USA.
