Salt Publishing is an example of a small independent publisher that has built a fine literary list during the thirteen years of its existence.  It has been nominated for and won a string of literary prizes and counts some eminent poets and novelists among its authors; yet it works on a shoestring and has no marketing budget as such.  Chris Hamilton-Emery, its founding director, Elaine Aldred, an independent online reviewer, and three authors who publish both with Salt and elsewhere discuss how to use the Internet effectively to promote good writing.
