Sara Fanelli

Sara Fanelli was born in Florence, Italy. She has been working in London as an illustrator since graduating from the Royal College of Art in 1995. She has written and illustrated several award-winning books and divides her time between publishing and general illustration commissions (clients include Tate, The Royal Mail, Thomas Heatherwick, BBC Worldwide, The New Yorker). Book awards include: Macmillan Prize for a Children's Picture Book, V&A Illustration Award, Bologna Ragazzi Commendations, D&AD Award and Titan Award. She has also been shortlisted for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award. She is the first woman illustrator to be elected Honorary Fellow of the Royal Designers for Industry (RDI).
