Pam Dix has recently retired from managing the Education Library Service in Islington, a book, costume and artefacts loans service for schools. She has worked in Inner London throughout her career as a secondary school librarian and library adviser. She has an MA in Children’s Literature from Roehampton University and has taught various courses on children’s literature at London Metropolitan University. She manages a small charity, the Akili Trust, which establishes community libraries in rural areas in Kenya and is the Chair of IBBY UK (international Board of Books for Young People). She has written training materials for Book Aid International for use throughout sub-Saharan Africa and is on the board of Book Aid International.
