Creative Industries Forum

  • China Publishing Group and LBF Creative Industries Forum, Beijing – 25 August

The creative industries forum, organised in partnership between China Publishing Group and The London Book Fair, returned for a second year in 2016. Designed to coincide with BIBF, this year’s forum was titled Classics Across Continents, Creativity Across Formats and took place at the Kempinski Hotel on August 25.

Continuing the dialogue around the endurance and flexibility of the written word that began in London last April, experts drawn from publishing, television and gaming debated the place of storytelling and education in the digital age. The anniversaries of Shakespeare, Tang Xianzu, Beatrix Potter and Raold Dahl were featured, among others.

The programme included Ian McDonald and Delia Jarrett-Macauley at Sanlian Book store, which was shortlisted for international book store at the LBF International Excellence Awards in 2016.
